hatırladığım kadarıyla, İstanbul’da İMÇ’de konumlanan bağımsız sanat alanı 5533’ün arşiv ve sözlü tarih odağında ilerleyen bir podcast serisidir. Bu seri, 5533 etrafında biriken insanları, ilişkileri, dostlukları, müdavimleri ve mekânın gündelik ritimlerini 5533 deposunda gerçekleşen samimi sohbetler üzerinden görünür kılar. İnisiyatifin çalışma etiğinde belirleyici olan iş birlikleri, kolektif üretim pratikleri ve sergilerin/etkinliklerin arka planının yanı sıra İMÇ’nin modernist mimarisi, tarihi ve katmanlı çalışma kültürü de konuşmaların zeminini oluşturur. Sohbetler aynı zamanda 5533’ün ve çarşının geleceğine dair tahayyülleri de konuşmaya açar.
5533 yirminci yılına yaklaşırken, 2025 yılında başlattığımız arşiv çalışmalarında adı geçen isimler bu kayıtlarda yeniden bedenlenir; sesleri, hatırlama biçimleri ve karşılaşmalar üzerinden somutlaşır. Her bölüm, 5533 ekosisteminden bir kesit sunar. Hikâye, her konuşmacının kendine özgü perspektifiyle çok sesli bir anlatıya dönüşür.

5533 Podcast: that which I remember

that which I remember is a podcast series focusing on the archive and oral history of 5533, an independent art space located at İMÇ (İstanbul Textile Traders’ Market) in Istanbul. This series brings to light the people, relationships, friendships, regulars, and daily rhythms of the space through intimate conversations held at the 5533 storage room. The conversations are grounded in the collaborations and collective production practices that define the initiative's working ethos and background of exhibitions/events, as well as the modernist architecture, history, and layered work culture of the IMÇ. The conversations also open up discussions about the future of 5533 and İMÇ.
As 5533 approaches its twentieth year, the names mentioned in the archival work we began in 2025 are embodied in these recordings through their voices, forms of remembrance, and encounters. Each episode unfolds a cross-section of the 5533 ecosystem. The story transforms into a polyphonic narrative through each speaker's unique perspective.
